This indicator shows changes in U.S. average price of diesel No.2 in dollars per gallon. Empirical data has shown a strong correlation between diesel fuel prices and construction costs. It is used to power construction equipment and power vehicles that transport construction materials. The source for the database is the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics. This indicator is updated monthly with a one month lag time.
