About

Florida’s population is ranked fourth in the United States, following California, Texas and New York. Although population growth has slowed compared to the recent past, the population continues to grow at a rate that exceeds the projected national average. According to U.S. Census Projections, by 2011, Florida is expected to be the third most populous state after California and Texas.

This section provides five population sub indicators;

a) Population Clock
b) Total Estimate
c) Percent Change
d) Estimates by Selected Age Group
e) Projected population

Florida’s quality of life continues to draw new residents and tourists. This growth can be both beneficial and detrimental to the economy, the environment, and the transportation system. Therefore, efforts will have to be made to meet the needs of a growing population.
